getting in touch with my inner colorado girl

I’ve seen it rain fire in the sky

You know what has been rocking my world lately? Many things but especially the Colorado sky. Seriously. Between the crazy hail and thunderstorms and fire in Fort Collins, the sunsets have just been out of control lately.

At my Denver Summer Ultimate Frisbee League game last week, I was absolutely mesmerized by the sky. When I wasn’t playing, I spent all my time on the sidelines staring at the clouds.

This week I enjoyed a spectacular sunset at Washington Park. I was riding my bike home from the climbing gym (I should just move to Boulder now right?) when I happened to glance up at the sky. It was so pretty that I decided to take the long way home and loop around the park.

Speaking of sunsets, I get to go rock climbing tomorrow! Okay this is admittedly completely unrelated to the sunsets, but tomorrow is my day off and I am going climbing in Cotopaxi. I’ll let you decide if you think I’m going to Ecuador or Cotopaxi, Colorado, population 45. I am especially excited to try out my new harness. So excited in fact that I wore it around the house for 30 minutes tonight.

Love my new harness!

Also on the agenda for this weekend are 14ers, a visit from one of my grad school BFFs, and an ultimate frisbee tournament. And hopefully some more epic Colorado sunsets, as per usual.

Happy weekend!

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.

  1. OK, remember my fascination with the “Big Skies” as we drove across Iowa – It’s genetic. Wonderful pictures. Mom

  2. The sunsets have been freaking amazing! I love them. Some nights they are my sole motivation to go on a short run, just to take photos of the sunset. its just so darn beautiful!

Hope you had a great day rock climbing, it was pretty nice out in the mountains today!
