getting in touch with my inner colorado girl

All good things involve wine

If you ask me to do anything involving crafts and wine, there is no way I am going to say no.  Just an FYI.  When my friend Lynne asked me last week if I wanted to do a Canvas and Cocktails night with her and some other Twitter friends (I already blogged about how much I love the Twitter community so I’ll spare you from that again), of course I immediately said yes.  I know that these painting and drinking wine things are all the rage these days, but I’ve never actually participated in one so I was excited.

The goods.

The painting of the night was “Sunset Denver”.  I had a lot of fun painting, and our teacher was really great about explaining each step.   They played fun songs while we were painting too, although the one downer was when they played an Adele song.  I basically only want to listen to Adele if it’s raining outside.

I love Diana’s face in this one.

Finished product!

I almost liked my painting more before I added the buildings, but oh well.  Of course I also added a Colorado flag to the painting because I am obsessed.

Colorado love.

I definitely had a lot of fun working with acrylics, and I might try to dabble in doing some more paintings at home over the summer.  All in all a completely lovely way to spend a Wednesday night!

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.
