getting in touch with my inner colorado girl

If you give a Paula a pair of pink pants…

I’ll be the first to admit that there are a lot of things I’m not good at, like cooking.  However, something that I am actually pretty good at is working with fabric paint.  It’s not something I put on my resume (yet), but it’s definitely something I have fun doing.

Halloween costume I made a few years ago!

A week or so ago some awesome ladies that I went to college with started posting pictures of skinny jeans with painted polka dots.    It started with Katie in DC, spread to MaryAnn in Georgia, and kept going with Katie in Florida.  Of course I had to make a pair for myself!  I started by getting the goods: fabric paint and pink pants.

Then I grabbed my Sephora eye shadow brush and got to work making polka dots.

The paint dried pretty quickly, and I was able to finish the pants in time to wear them on Saturday night.  I sort of love how they turned out – and it was super easy too!  I want to make a skirt next.

Love how they turned out!

For their first debut I wore the pink polka dot pants to dinner with some ladies at Linger, which is one of Denver’s most popular newish restaurants.  One of the girls had made reservations six week in advance, and it was definitely worth it.  I especially liked the Mongolian Duck BBQ Bun and Ginger Chili Shrimp.  And we finished with a Peanut Butter Cup dessert that was incredible.  It was a great first night for the pink pants.  I can’t wait to see where we go next!

So good.  Anyone want to go in six weeks?

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.
