This is indeed another blog entry about the gorgeous golden aspens blanketing Colorado right now. I may be obsessed. But at least I am obsessed with nature and not The Jersey Shore, right? Although I am quite admittedly a huge fan of The Bachelor, which also is not exactly quality television. But onto the important topic at hand – golden aspens! They are kind of amazing right now.
Despite the fact that I had (and have) ridiculous amounts of homework due this upcoming week, mountain playtime was still a big priority for this past weekend. And even after I made my friend Britt stop every 100 feet while driving back from Aspen last weekend, she was also still game for some mountain playtime. I did some research during the week, and it seemed like the Colorado Trail at Kenosha Pass was going to be an excellent aspen viewing point. The entire state of Colorado agreed with us, and it was crazy busy on Highway 285. It was like Breckenridge on a three-day weekend – madness! However Britt and I quickly found the silver lining in this: there were plenty of people to take pictures of us!
The aspens were so pretty they looked fake. More importantly, they looked like elementary school photo backgrounds. Unless you were the too cool for school kid who chose the laser background.
Anyway, we took full advantage of the gorgeous fall day to embark on senior photo session verson 2011.
There were some more serious moments of aspen enjoyment too, don’t worry.
I mean Georgia was pretty and all last fall but man it’s hard to beat the Colorado golden aspens.
