getting in touch with my inner colorado girl

Happy birthday RMNPaula!

Exactly one year ago I started this blog and two years ago I graduated from college. What a crazy past couple of years it has been! Two years ago when I was walking the quad at Billy Jewell on graduation day I never imagined that the next two years would involve me living in Honduras, Atlanta and Denver. I have met some incredible people along the way, and more importantly, I have learned to trust and believe in myself. I still have a lot to learn about life and living, but I truly am completely content and happy with where my life is today. And I really can’t wait to see where I end up in the next couple of years.

This blog has definitely been a fun part of my life in the past year. I originally started it with the intention of blogging about my favorite trail runs around Denver, and luckily it has expanded to other topics and my life in general. While I could debate for days about my favorite Jefferson County Open Space Parks, I understand that not everyone finds the tenets of trail running as fascinating as I do. A look back at the five most popular (by hits) blog entries over the past year:

5) An Open Letter to Bonnie Wright

4) SkyMall Christmas Shopping Guide

3) The Great Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

2) So You Want to Dress Like a Coloradan

1) Stuff Colorado People Like

Also a quick shoutout to my regular followers from Sweden. I have no idea who you guys are but I love the support! My own personal favorite entry has probably been The Original Motherland, because I had a blast looking through old photo albums with my mom when I was in Missouri over Christmas. I will forever appreciate my mom for doing really cool things like taking my brother and I on a random two week road trip through Colorado one summer and not letting us get cable. No matter how much I thought my life needed Nickelodeon, I think I have ultimately been much better off for spending time playing outside. Another favorite entry was probably Fall Into the GA. While my feelings about Atlanta are mixed, my feelings about Georgia falls are overwhelmingly positive. I don’t think I have ever experienced a more beautiful fall in my life.

Thank you to my friends and family for not making me feel completely lame for having a blog. And don’t worry, there’s plenty more RMNPaula coming your way. I have no intentions of stopping anytime soon!

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.
