I have a pretty nice little life in the ATL, but I definitely can’t wait to get back to mountains, trail running, and Denver friends. To tide my trail running deficit over, I have recently become a huge fan of the blog Dirt Diva, which chronicles the trail adventures of Catra Corbett. This chick is basically my idol. She loves life and trail running and does not take herself too seriously. Her blog is really fun and definitely an inspiration. I especially enjoy the quotes that she puts at the top of each entry in large fun fonts, like:
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.”
I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in. ~John Muir
All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on,
and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination,
what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when
we get there. ~From A Little Book of Happiness
Catra also does super awesome things, like the Rim to Rim run at the Grand Canyon. I really want to do the Mount Evans Ascent next June, and Catra has helped me decide that it’s going to happen. A 14.5 mile race that starts at 10,600 feet and finishes at 14,264 feet? Bring it!
On a completely different note, my friend Liz and I went on a Halloween Hike on Sunday. Georgia foliage continues to rock my world.
