Experience Your America!

I currently work for the National Park Service, and I must admit, I completely buy into the idea.  I think the NPS is one of the coolest things America has going.  A little something NPS likes to call “America’s Best Idea”.  Also I think John Muir is awesome.  He’s the guy who helped save Yosemite way back when and inspired one of the first congressional bills that was the predecessor for the NPS Act (1916 for your reference).  He also said way sweet things like: “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings” and “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness”.  Oh Johnny.  So wise!

Anyway, I personally try to take advantage of Rocky Mountain National Park, and I have also experienced many other NPs, like Yellowstone and the Everglades.  However, there’s a huge map of all the National Parks hanging in my cubicle that I stare at all day, and I probably add a park a day to my personal list of NPs to visit.  The top five list:

1. Glacier National Park

2. Yosemite National Park

3. Grand Canyon National Park

4. Denali National Park

5. Grand Teton National Park

Honorable Mentions:

Arches National Park

Crater Lake National Park

Mount Rainier National Park

In conclusion, I am apparently a very good employee.  Also in conclusion, National Parks are awesome.  Take advantage of them!  And let me know if you want to go to any on my top five list.

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.
