getting in touch with my inner colorado girl

Time to sit back and unwind

My summer has now officially begun!  I have turned in all my papers, moved out of my old apartment, and I am currently in God’s country (Missouri) for a long weekend.  My new apartment, well okay summer sublet, is totally awesome.  I moved down to the Capitol Hill area of Denver, which definitely has a lot more “flavor” than the University Boulevard neighborhood where I used to live.  I now see a lot more homeless people than luxury vehicles.  However, don’t let me downplay it, my neighborhood is nice and feels completely safe.  I live really close to the Denver Botanical Gardens – it’s definitely not gang territory.

Anyway, I kind of look at this as a test run for Cap Hill.  I don’t know if I’ll be in Denver this fall due to various internship situations, but I wanted to use this summer to see if I like living far away from DU.  So far I love it.  Now I feel like I live in real Denver and not DU undergraduate land.  Thus far, the new apartment is working out great, and while I do have one roommate the apartment is huge and we have completely different schedules.  A tour of my summer place?  But of course!

My room!  I can’t take credit for the vintage furniture.  I can take credit for the decor.

Double closet, obviously the best part.

Einstein, the selling point of the apartment and the cutest dog ever.  I like to pretend he’s named after the Tech N9ne song.  Because that’s what I would have named him after.

Typical Colorado girl that can't make up her mind. Trail running, hiking, climbing, camping, CrossFit, ultimate frisbee, and skiing? E, all of the above.
